Quietra is built to be private by default. There are no accounts, no ads, and we do not sell your data. Your journal, check-ins, and the pitch you tune stay on your device. This policy explains the only two things that ever leave it — anonymous usage and crash data — and why.
Who we are
Quietra ("we", "us") is an iOS app that masks the ringing of tinnitus with sound so it is easier to rest. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your iPhone. It is stored locally and is not sent to us or anyone else:
- The frequency you tune with the ring finder (per ear).
- Your soundscape choices, mixes, and sleep-timer settings.
- Your journal entries, monthly check-in answers, and progress history.
- Your subscription status, which is managed by Apple.
What we collect
Anonymous usage data (analytics)
We use Amplitude to count a small, fixed set of in-app events — for example, that the ring finder was completed or a sleep timer was set. These events are bucketed and carry no account, no name, no email, and no advertising identifier (IDFA). They are not linked to your identity. We use them only to understand which parts of the app help, so we can make it better.
Crash reports
We use Sentry to receive crash and error reports when something goes wrong, so we can fix it. These reports are scrubbed of your journal and note text and are not tied to a user identity. Screenshots and view hierarchies are not captured.
What we do not do
- We do not require or offer accounts.
- We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.
- We do not record audio or use your microphone.
Apple and purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We use RevenueCat to read your subscription status; it receives an anonymous app-generated identifier, not your name or email.
Data retention and your control
Because your content lives on your device, you are in control of it. Deleting the app removes that local data from your iPhone. Anonymous analytics and crash events, once sent, are retained by our providers for a limited period under their standard policies. To ask a question or make a request about your data, email [email protected].
Children
Quietra is rated 4+ but is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy label.
Quietra is a sound-masking tool for comfort and rest. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional care.
